Manchester is especially lovely in the fall and is jam packed with things to do during the winter.
Manchester lies at the bottom of Mt. Equinox and is near world-class skiing at Stratton Mountain. If you’re a skier, bring your skis – and if not, bring the camera as you’ll get some great mountain pictures. While in Manchester, enjoy brand name outlet shopping with a New England charm backdrop. The scenery is breathtaking no matter which season you go. The area is known for its legendary fall colors during the autumn season, fly fishing and golfing during the warmer months and skiing during the winter months.
While you may want to take a day trip for some shopping and great scenery, if you do choose to stay overnight, the area features many bed and breakfasts and inns. Be sure to find the time to visit some of the museums and antique shops in the area.
Head up to Stratton Mountain Resort for some of the best snowboarding, skiing and cross-country skiing. The resort is just a few minutes from Manchester. If the cold isn’t your thing, the area is open during the rest of the year, too. Stratton Mountain offers biking, golf, tennis, hiking and swimming during the warm months.
Manchester’s designer outlets, known as “5th Avenue in the mountains,” offers you up to 70 percent off retail prices every day. Enjoy the many shops at the outlet mall whether shopping for yourself or looking for the perfect gift, and then head over to The Equinox Resort & Spa to relax before you head home.
Shopping also includes such shops as:
Earth Sky Time Farm, an organic farm and wood-fired bakery
Olive & Ives, custom crafted olive oils and vinegars
Covey & Nye, sporting gear
